Crédit Mutuel Nord Europe operates 250 branches as part of a solid regional network covering seven departments in northern France (Aisne, Ardennes, Marne, Nord, Oise, Pas-de-Calais and Somme). It serves nearly one million customers and members each day across five markets: private individuals, professionals, companies, farmers and associations.
This move opens up new development prospects for both Crédit Mutuel Alliance Fédérale and Crédit Mutuel Nord Europe and its two subsidiaries:
- Beobank, which operates a banking and insurance business in Belgium with 218 branches and 745,000 customers;
- La Française, the asset management group focused primarily on financial and real estate assets.
“This mutual amalgamation, which was unanimously approved by the chairmen of our local banks in January 2021, will help to prolong synergies that have been in place for years with Crédit Mutuel Alliance Fédérale. It opens up new development opportunities by strengthening our expertise in bankinsurance and asset management. We share the same ambitions in customer satisfaction, innovation, regional development and societal responsibility. With this membership, Crédit Mutuel Nord Europe will draw on the relevance and strength of its model to make Crédit Mutuel stronger than ever, say Olivier Oger and Éric Charpentier, respectively Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Crédit Mutuel Nord Europe.
For Nicolas Théry, Chairman of Crédit Mutuel Alliance Fédérale and Daniel Baal, Chief Executive Officer: “Crédit Mutuel Nord Europe and Crédit Mutuel Alliance Fédérale have shared the same mutual values and strategic outlook for many years. We are drawing on our raison d’être, “listening and acting together”, and our status as a benefit corporation to bolster our regional development to better serve our members and customers and contribute to the common good.”
