Crédit Mutuel Alliance Fédérale will put forward to the Board of Directors of Crédit Mutuel Asset Management the nomination of Eliana de Abreu as Managing Director of the asset management company. Eliana de Abreu will be responsible for fund management and developing the range of investment solutions, based on an extra-financial expertise, consistent with the ambitions of a sustainable asset manager.

In her new capacity, Eliana de Abreu should also join Groupe La Francaise, led by Guillaume Cadiou, as a member of the Executive Board1. She will contribute to the creation of Credit Mutuel Alliance Fédérale’s asset management business line2, under a multi-boutique model. The new ensemble would become a major player in the French Asset Management landscape, representing €166 billion in assets under management (as at 31/12/2022), with locations across Europe, active in Asia and offering a wide range of expertise including listed assets, real assets and alternative management.

Eliana de Abreu, who has been with the asset manager since 2002, has made a major contribution to the development of Crédit Mutuel Asset Management's extra financial expertise, a theme at the heart of the company's development strategy. Eliana will be a major asset in supporting the development of our asset management business line,” said Daniel Baal, Chief Executive Officer of Crédit Mutuel Alliance Fédérale.

Previously Chief Investment Officer, Eliana de Abreu will succeed Claire Bourgeois as Managing Director of Crédit Mutuel Asset Management.

Eliana de Abreu has over twenty years of experience in asset management. She began her career in 2000 as a money market fund manager with Dresdner RCM Gestion. In 2002, she joined Crédit Mutuel Asset Management as a fixed income fund manager in charge of aggregate, credit, inflation and convertibles bonds. In 2018, Eliana de Abreu was promoted to Head of Fixed Income Asset Management and in 2021 she was appointed CIO, in charge of seventy professionals, including the Responsible Finance Department, and an extensive range of 300 funds, representing €70 billion in assets under management (end 2022).

Eliana de Abreu, 46, holds a Master in Banking, Finance and Insurance from Paris Dauphine University and a double degree in Applied Mathematics and Economy from the same university.
