Planning for post-Covid-19: Crédit Mutuel Alliance Fédérale is offering its employees a sustainable mobility allowance (forfait mobilités durables)

  2min

On Wednesday, May 26th, Crédit Mutuel Alliance Fédérale welcomed Jeanne Barseghian, mayor of Strasbourg, and Pia Imbs, Chairwoman of Eurométropole de Strasbourg, who launched the 12th edition of the “Au boulot à vélo” (cycle to work) campaign designed to encourage more people to cycle to work in the city of Strasbourg.

Crédit Mutuel Alliance Fédérale took the opportunity of this event to announce its sustainable mobility allowance, the forfait mobilités durables, which it is launching for its employees. This new allowance comes as part of the organization of remote working procedures pursuant to the Quality of Life in the Workplace framework agreement signed with the trade union representative bodies on October 28, 2020.

In establishing the new sustainable mobility allowance for all of its employees, one of the key measures of the French mobility law (loi d’orientation des mobilités) that came into force in May 2020, the mutualist bank has set a target to speed up new mobility practices at the company level.

A wider range of mobility choices have now been incorporated into the measure: privately-owned bicycles (electric or non-electric), scooters and rental electric scooters, car pooling (as driver or passenger), as well as car sharing services using energy efficient cars.

This measure to promote methods of travel other than individual cars1 will help to reduce the environmental impact of work commutes.

The amount allocated per employee under this scheme will be €400 per year.

According to Daniel Baal, CEO of Crédit Mutuel Alliance Fédérale, “as a mission-driven company, we want to contribute to a fairer and more sustainable society through concrete action in favor of the energy transition. As part of this approach, we are offering the sustainable mobility allowance to all employees who wish to benefit from it.”

Organized in the context of the Quality of Life in the Workplace framework agreement signed on October 28, 2020, Crédit Mutuel Alliance Fédérale will shortly propose an adaptation of the conditions for implementing this allowance to the trade union representative bodies so that employees can start to benefit from it this year, as soon as the health conditions permit.

1 “The car continues to be the main means of commuting to work, even for short distances”, according to an INSEE report on commuting trends by Chantal Brunel and Jeanne Pages, published on January 19, 2021: https://www.insee.fr/fr/statistiques/5013868
