Crédit Mutuel launches its 52nd Eurojeunes drawing competition for young people

  1min

The theme of the 52nd Eurojeunes, the biggest international drawing competition, has been announced: "What is beauty?" ("Le beau, c’est quoi ?") Young artists have until 31 March 2022 to send their work into any of the participating Crédit Mutuel branches.

We are expecting creativity and inventiveness aplenty for this 52nd edition of the competition. More than one million people from six European countries (Germany, Austria, France, Italy, Luxembourg and Switzerland) are set to take part.

The overall theme will be broken down into three questions for three different age groups:

  • "What things do you find beautiful?" for participants aged 6-10;
  • "Who defines what is beautiful" for participants aged 11-14;
  • "Does beauty exist in itself?" for participants aged 15-18.

To enter the competition, submit your drawing before March 31, 2022 to any participating Crédit Mutuel branch. All participants will be rewarded by their Crédit Mutuel branch. The best drawings selected in each category can then go forward to compete at national level, and then at international level.

"This Europe-wide competition is unique in bringing so many people together to compete. Many generations have taken part over the years, with more than 90 million taking part since the competition began. Crédit Mutuel is proud to have the opportunity to encourage these young people to express themselves through drawing", says Daniel Baal, CEO of Crédit Mutuel Alliance Fédérale.

In 2021, more than 500 Crédit Mutuel branches got involved to select 13,000 drawings, despite the health situation. Three of the four winners in France went on to compete internationally, two of whom won top prizes. We expect this edition to display once again Crédit Mutuel's capacity to create links and transmit its mutualist values by galvanizing its network around an educational event open to all.
